Your car’s eyes — from your pocket to plate-reading pro.

Start with your iPhone

The dashcam you already own.

Your iPhone becomes a GPS-stamped dashcam the moment you mount it. Every clip is tied to the exact trip it came from, so footage is never a mystery pile of files.

  • Front or dual capture, stamped with time, speed, and location.
  • Use the iPhone’s telephoto or ultra-wide lens for a tighter or wider second angle while you drive.
  • Clips live on your device and sync only between your own devices — no cloud.

Connect compatible RTSP cameras. Free.

Point DriveIO at a compatible RTSP camera and pull its stream straight into the app to view and record — front, rear, and telephoto. This grows your phone-dashcam into a real multi-angle system without a subscription.

Heads-up, honestly: RTSP access on most consumer dashcams is community-discovered, not officially supported by the manufacturer — the stream URLs can change with a firmware update. So this feature is clearly labeled experimental and offered as best-effort. We run it ourselves and will keep it working as hard as we can, but it may change.

4× ZOOM

Read the plate from across the street.

A 2K, 4× optical telephoto turns a faraway plate into a clear, readable frame — the difference between “a dark car that took off” and usable evidence you can actually hand to police or insurance.

  • Optical zoom keeps distant plates sharp, not a blur of pixels.
  • Captures land in DriveIO with time and location attached.
Voice-triggered capture

Say the word. Catch the plate.

Something happens fast — a hit-and-run, a fender-bender, a car that shouldn’t be there. Instead of fumbling for your phone, say a voice command and DriveIO grabs every plate it can see, as fast as it can, into a dated, located Accident File. Hands stay on the wheel; the evidence collects itself.

The setup we’re testing

A known-good kit — or any RTSP camera.

You can connect any compatible RTSP camera. To make it easier, we’re validating one known-good multi-camera kit — a front, a rear, and a telephoto plate camera — so there’s a setup we can point you to that we’ve actually tested end to end. Run as many as you need — front for the road ahead, rear to catch rear-end hits, a cabin cam for rideshare, and a telephoto for plates.

Camera support is coming soon and experimental. Model recommendations will be posted here once testing is complete — described generically, since compatibility depends on community-discovered RTSP access rather than official manufacturer support.

Even when you’re parked

It keeps watch with the engine off.

Wired in with a hardwire kit, a compatible camera runs 24/7 parking mode — recording motion and impacts while you’re away, with a low-voltage cutoff so it won’t drain your battery. Come back to a door ding or a hit-and-run and the footage is already waiting.

Where DriveIO is headed: tying into those parking events so an alert can kick off a capture straight into your Accident File. That part is exploratory and experimental — the cameras handle parking mode on their own today; the deeper integration is on our roadmap.

This is the multi-camera system we’re getting in to test — a 3-channel setup with a telephoto plate camera. If you want to run cameras with DriveIO, it’s a well-reviewed place to start. RTSP support stays experimental until our testing is done. (We may earn a small commission — it helps keep DriveIO free.)
